S23-046, On the Brink: A Writing Workshop

April 17, 2023 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm EDT

Zoom

We are always on the brink of something. What we love about LLI is that brink is learning something new. What we love about writing is that it is a tool and a practice for discovering, deepening and developing that learning into personal meaning and significance.
This semester we will learn from Parker J. Palmer’s On the Brink of Everything: Grace, Gravity and Getting Old and use our writing to explore its wisdom – and our own.
You will choose your topics and form as we discuss and push off this reading into writing.
Please buy a copy of the book and read through page 30, so we will have food for thought to put to use in our first class. Each session will explore the at-home reading through discussion and short writes; then we will wind up with writing and sharing a longer write of choice.
Presenter: Mary Winsky
Mary Winsky will facilitate as she has learned to do from writers of all ages and stages in her many years as teacher and fellow writer.
LLI Coordinator: Elizabeth Crawford
