WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Our great organization is vibrant and growing since 2003. We have no paid administrator, and no office – we rely entirely on dedicated volunteers to keep us going and to continue serving the seniors in our community. WE NEED YOUR TIME AND TALENT, especially in the positions below. Please help!
Data-Entry Assistant:
Periodically, especially during January and September, we need help preparing for online class registrations, and processing class registrations and memberships. Must be reasonably computer-competent, very detail-oriented, and comfortable with the basics of spreadsheets and databases. We will teach you how to use our ProClass database system. Contact Barbara Marotta at barbara13454@comcast.net
AV Equipment Setup:
Many of our classes require some type of audio-visual equipment support at the various venues – setting up a screen, hooking up computer projector to laptops, and assisting the instructor as necessary with their AV requirements. We need 3-4 people who are comfortable using (or learning) this technology, and could work on a rotating schedule of a few times per month. Contact Ernie Pino at emanpino@verizon.net
Program Committee:
Our classes and programs are the lifeblood of LLI. The wonderful slate of classes that you see in our Program Guides is developed and planned by this (our largest) committee. Do you have ideas for future LLI classes? Do you know people from your professional experience that might present an interesting program? Do you have “connections” in the local business, government, academic or church communities? This committee would welcome your participation! Contact Nancy Arrington at narrington1@verizon.net
Events Volunteer:
Have you attended our holiday luncheons, our Hylton registration socials, or simply enjoyed having coffee and cookies with your LLI friends prior to a Forum? Our Events Committee plans these events, staffs them with volunteers, and provides the goodies. So help us accomplish the “social’ side of our mission and be an Events volunteer – sociability is a must, but bartending skills are not required! Contact Karla Anzzolin at rocmusisn@comcast.net
New Member Welcome:
It’s important to make our new LLI members feel welcome, and familiarize them with our procedures and what we have to offer. As new members enroll (especially in September and January), we need help contacting them by phone, welcoming them, and serving as an initial “point of contact” for their questions. If you are a “seasoned” LLI member and like meeting new people, this is a job for you! Contact Mary Foster at maryfoster42@gmail.com
Financial Management:
Money makes the world go ’round, and that’s true for us as well. Our Finance Committee meets periodically to review our financial status, approve our annual budget, and accomplish our annual audit. Do you have experience or an interest in these areas? We would welcome your expertise and participation on this committee.
